Inside Ballerina Kitchens—What Our Germany Trip Means for VRD Members
Our Backstage Pass to German Kitchen Design
This fall, we’re grabbing our passports, packing our sketchbooks, and boarding flights for a trip that’s equal parts education, connection, and design inspiration: We’re headed to Rödinghausen, Germany—home of Ballerina Kitchens.

What’s so special about a factory tour? If you’ve ever tried to explain the value of German engineering to a client, we know there’s nothing like seeing it for ourselves. The Ballerina-Küchen headquarters is the kind of place that makes us rethink what’s possible in kitchen design. It’s a 320,000 square foot production space (yes, you read that right), rows of fully automated machinery, and a showroom so sleek it feels like stepping into a design magazine.
Our timing is no accident. We’re coordinating our trip with Küchenmeile—Germany’s legendary “Kitchen Mile.” For one week every fall, the whole region throws open its doors to reveal the year’s freshest collections, boldest innovations, and newest trends. If we want to be first in line for what’s next in kitchen design, this is where we want to be.

Here’s what this trip really means for our members:
We get to see the magic happen.
Panels are cut, edges are waterproofed, and units are assembled with millimeter precision. It’s one thing to read about Ballerina’s craftsmanship—quite another to watch it happen right in front of us. The team will walk us through their tech, their process, and how they turn raw materials into kitchens that are as durable as they are stylish.
We’ll step inside a 2,000-square-meter showroom.
This is where the fun really starts: 450+ kitchen models, 26 cabinet interior colors, endless custom storage ideas, and all the latest design innovations. If we want to wow our clients with insider knowledge—or just feast our eyes on what’s next in kitchen design—this is our playground.
We get face time with the people who make it all happen.
We’re not just walking through the factory and showroom; we’re connecting directly with Ballerina’s team and other designers from across the globe. That means real relationships, real conversations, and, yes, real business opportunities.

And because this is VRD, there’s more than just showrooms and seminars. We’ll be exploring the German countryside together, sharing meals, and making memories we can’t get from any “virtual tour.” These trips are about building our network, deepening our expertise, and making relationships that support our business goals.

At VRD, we’re not in competition. We share what works. We open doors. We make sure everyone in our circle has a seat at the table. We’re excited to bring back new ideas, insights, and inspiration to share with the entire VRD community.
